Terms of Use

Last updated: February 25, 2026

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of balanci.app. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. Service scope

balanci.app provides accounting workflow tools for solo freelancers in Germany, including expense and income tracking, invoicing, tax preparation workflows, and support tooling.

balanci.app is currently in alpha. Features can evolve, and some capabilities are intentionally semi-automated while workflows are hardened.

Official tax-authority transmission functionality, where provided, is implemented using licensed integration components under applicable public-administration terms.

The public website may use optional analytics measurement tools only if you expressly opt in via privacy settings. Analytics preferences, cookies/local storage, and related data processing are described in the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility and account security

You must provide accurate registration information and keep account credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activity under your account and must notify us promptly about unauthorized access.

3. Invitation and access

Alpha registration may require a valid invitation code. Invitation links and codes are personal and may be revoked if abuse, fraud, or policy violations are detected.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service for unlawful activity or to process unlawful content.
  • Do not attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or other security controls.
  • Do not interfere with service operation or attempt unauthorized data access.
  • Do not misrepresent identity or use another person's account.

5. User data, tax data, and legal responsibility

You are responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of data entered into your workspace, including invoices, tax details, and client information.

balanci.app is an AI-first business assistant for bookkeeping and tax preparation workflows, but it does not provide legal or tax advisory services and does not replace independent professional advice.

You remain responsible for validating declaration content before transmission and for obtaining any taxpayer permissions required for filing through software.

6. Tax transmission-specific conditions

  • Transmission interfaces are used exclusively for legally permitted electronic tax declaration and tax data transmission purposes.
  • Before using direct transmission features, users must be shown mandatory tax-administration data protection notices and a way to acknowledge them.
  • We may require currently released minimum integration versions to keep transmission compatibility.
  • Support for our integration is provided by balanci.app.
  • Where diagnostics are needed, protocol files may be requested and transferred only with explicit user permission.

7. Intellectual property and license

balanci.app and its software, branding, and content are protected by intellectual property rights. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the service.

References to public tax-administration systems are used only to indicate compatibility where relevant.

8. Fees and changes

During alpha, access may be free unless stated otherwise. If paid plans are introduced, pricing and billing terms will be published before charges apply.

9. Availability, warranty, and liability

We aim to operate a reliable service, but alpha functionality is provided on an as-available basis. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

Liability is limited under applicable German law. We remain fully liable for intent, gross negligence, injury to life/body/health, and claims that cannot be limited by law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, abuse, security risk, or legal necessity. You may stop using the service at any time.

11. Governing law and consumer rights

These terms are governed by German law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply under EU law.

12. Public authority postbox disclaimer

Public-authority inbox content may include documents provided by authorities other than tax administration. Tax administration does not control and is not liable for correctness, completeness, or timeliness of such third-party documents or linked content. Questions about specific documents must be directed to the responsible authority.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@balanci.app.
